Safe Ascension

The aspect of safely accessing equipment stored on the roof gave birth to a rear staircase built into the body. Great idea. Poor execution. Built-in staircases destroy more space in the body than roof compartments could ever compensate, as much as a 40% storage capacity loss.

Hackney addressed that issue by developing the AutoDeploy Staircase (ADS). It consumes zero storage space and yet provides a OSHA compliant ascent/descent angle for safety retrieving equipment. Plus, the ascent starts at ground level, not at bumper level. Safety is further enhanced byuse of open-grate Grip-Strut steps rather than diamond plate surfaces.

The ADS is deployed in under 35-seconds by depressing a single button.
